An inquest is set to examine how Constables Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold, and neighbour Alan Dare were fatally shot by Nathaniel, Gareth and Stacey Train in 2022.

One of the surviving officers involved in the Wieambilla shooting that resulted in the deaths of two Queensland constables and a neighbour may not give evidence at an inquest due to medical reasons.

From left: Constables Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold, who were killed in the Wieambilla shooting, and constables Randall Kirk and Keely Brough, who survived the incident. “Respectfully, whilst the families appreciate the events which took place were traumatic, particularly in relation to Constable Keely Brough, Brough was, in fact, one of the few people who were present at the time of the events and who may have witnessed, or has witnessed, the events which led to the deaths of constables McCrow and Arnold,” he said.
