I was extremely disappointed to read the article in the June 4 PennLive Patriot News about Scott Perry’s appointment to the US Congressional Intelligence Committee. While I am fully supportive of bipartisan collaboration in governmental positions, I believe our elective representatives should be fully committed to the rule of law as spelled out in our Constitution.
With his efforts to undercut the results of the 2020 election, which was carried out in accordance with our Constitution, Rep. Perry has demonstrated that he does not fully respect the rule of law. It is inappropriate to have him serve on such a sensitive and critical committee. However, while protesting Rep. Perry’s appointment to the Intelligence Committee by writing this letter, I will follow the law to challenge his continuation as the Representative of the 10 Congressional District in Central Pennsylvania.
