The Supreme Court ruling on Donald Trump's presidential immunity claim could mean him going on trial in fall, a legal expert said.

Donald Trump's bid to have the Supreme Court declare that he has absolute legal immunity for actions conducted while he was president, preventing him being prosecuted in the federal 2020 election subversion case, could 'backfire.' It could result in the Republican facing a trial in the fall, according to George Conway. The attorney and anti-Trump conservative made the comments during a CNN appearance on Friday.

'There may be a few wrinkles in the opinion that may add a few steps to the process, but at the end of the day, I don't think his argument is going to fly. In terms of the delay, I wish they had not taken the case... but the fact of the matter is, I don't think there is a grand conspiracy or even an effort by some of the justices to put this off to help Trump.
