Mngqithi's contract with Sundowns, along with that of head coach Rulani Mokwena, was subpoenaed to the South Gauteng High Court by MT Sports lawyers, in defence of the litigation case against The Brazilians.
As a consequence of the subpoena of the duo's contracts, the details of their financial agreements with the side were also revealed to the media. Having gotten a response from Kapeluschnik after his contract with Sundowns was dragged to court, KickOff eventually got hold of Makaab, who also gave his stance on the issue.
