Broxtowe Borough Council,Courts

The borough council has brought legal action against the business that owns the site

A Stapleford pensioner has spoken of his sadness about the state of a pub opposite his home. Malcolm Baxter, 79, lives just metres from The Old Rock on Church Street in the Nottinghamshire town.

Malcolm said: "It's such a big eyesore and a plague on the entire community. It's been in a state of disrepair for the last three or four years. People break in and smash the windows. Look at the state of it. And it's nothing now compared to what it was."Mr Baxter has lived in his home on Church Street since the late 1990s. The Old Rock, which was the Chequers Inn until 2016, was once a well-loved drinking spot in the local community.

Mrs Mohindra and her husband eventually moved out of the Post Office after their lease ended. But the family's business, Nikita Business Solutions Limited, had acquired the Old Rock next door. If someone does not adhere to the orders of a CPN, they can be prosecuted. Nikita Business Solutions Limited recently appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 29 having not complied with the notice.
