KOTA KINABALU: De facto law minister Datuk Liew Vui Keong will be meeting Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to further discuss matters concerning the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Liew said apart from fostering closer rapport among the Sarawak lawmakers, he also hoped to get them to better understandthe proposal to amend Article 1 of the Federal Constitution, which among others, aims to restore Sabah and Sarawak's status as equal partners in the Federation of Malaysia.

"I hope the meeting with them soon can help them understand what we are trying to achieve with regard to this proposed amendment," he said during a press conference on Saturday . "This unanimous endorsement by Sabah politicians regardless of whether they are in government or opposition is a positive development for the pushing of Sabah and Sarawak's rights and equal partners status pursuant to MA63," he said.
