A Canberra man facing family violence charges tells a court he didn't understand the seriousness of his bail conditions when he went to Queensland.

A 48-year-old man charged with family violence offences was extradited to the ACT after breaching bail conditions when he travelled to Queensland.

The 48-year-old was released on bail on Thursday, despite having been extradited from Mackay the previous day. Police allege that between April 2023 and March 2024 he sent more than 200 emails to his ex-wife, sometimes many on the same day, which included comments like:"What you are doing is f***** disgusting after all these years what I have done for you and yours, and all I want is to be able to see my kids you are nothing to me anymore, but a low life piece of shit.""F***** putrid shallow lowlife you are.
