Actor Brad Pitt left ‘devastated’ by his 18-year-old daughter’s decision to change her surname: 'Symbol of a deeper estrangement'
Brad Pitt is reportedly reeling from a legal move made by his 18-year-old daughter Shiloh following his split from Angelina Jolie.Shiloh, the 18-year-old daughter of Pitt and Angelina Jolie, on her birthday in May reportedly submitted a legal petition to have her father’s last name taken off her hyphenated surname.
The US government requires those wishing to change their name to file paperwork and appear before a judge to complete the process. Pitt is “devastated” by the move and that he feels it is a symbol of a larger issue at play.“To him, it was more than a change of name — it was a symbol of a deeper estrangement that has been brewing for years.”
An insider told Page Six Pitt was finding the turn of events “extremely difficult to come to terms with”.It is unclear how much of a relationship Pitt has with Shiloh and his other five children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne and Knox. The 60-year-old has been locked in a legal battle with ex-wife Jolie for years over their divorce, custody of their kids and the ownership of the French vineyard Chateau Miraval they bought together in 2008.
