Jurors have been sworn in the trial of Lucy Letby who is accused of attempting to murder a baby girl.
Letby, of Hereford, is charged with attempted murder of a baby girl, known as Child K, in February 2016 after jurors were unable to reach verdicts. She denies the offence. Letby is to go on trial at Manchester Crown Court tomorrow .On Tuesday, June 11, six men and six women, along with two spare jurors, were sworn in to try the case.
“Your task is to determine on all the evidence placed before you, and nothing else, whether she attempted to murder a baby during the period she was found to have murdered or attempted to murder others.” He added: “Anyone accused of a crime is innocent until proven guilty, it is for the prosecution to prove the case.
