The victims of former Waverley councillor Sam Einfeld say they were not informed of a police investigation into a possible breach of his bail.
Margot Priday and her daughter Polly claim they have been told that police cannot tell them whether or not they know Einfeld's whereabouts, or if he had left the treatment facility where he was required to be living. "Mum is absolutely terrified, and I'm obviously on high alert… there's really no way to predict what he'll do and that's really scary."
Margot and her daughter, who had also been assaulted by Einfeld on another occasion, spoke to ABC News ahead of his sentencing in June.In addition to her physical injuries, Margot said she suffered PTSD and was forced to move out of the Surry Hills home because she no longer felt safe there.Einfeld remained in custody for eight months before being granted bail by the District Court in December 2022 to seek treatment at a residential rehabilitation centre.
He is related to former Federal Court Judge Marcus Einfeld, who was jailed for lying about a speeding ticket.
