Posted on 09 June 2024 | 45 views | 0 commentsThirteen people – six Vietnamese women and seven Singaporean men – were charged in a district court on June 6 over their alleged links to marriages of convenience, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said.The women are Ngo Thi Thanh, 28; Hu Gia Phan, 30; Nguyen Thi Thuy Quyen, 30; Tran Ngoc Phuong Thao, 31; Nguyen Thi Minh Trang, 32; and Nguyen Thi Thu Giang, 32.
Gan is said to have received $8,000 from Thanh for a marriage of convenience with her at Marina Bay Sands on Jan 26, 2023. Noel Teo is accused of entering into a marriage with one Bui Thi Huong, 35, on Feb 1, 2024. He allegedly received $13,000 from her for doing so.
