Breaking: CCT convicts Walter Onnoghen, orders FG to seize funds in his accounts - Vanguard News

As part of its sentence, the Mr Danladi Umar-led three-man panel removed Justice Onnoghen as both the CJN and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, NJC.

It equally ordered that all the monies that were found in five bank accounts that he allegedly failed to declare as part of his assets, be forfeited to FG. Mr Umar held that the CCT had the requisite jurisdiction to try the ex-CJN on the allegation that he falsely declared his assets.

vanguardngr But am confused. How does not declaring asset amount to seizing all the finds in his account? Even his rightly earned salary. That's wrong na. Did they investigate that those money were stolen ? So bcos I bought a new car, u seize my savings, Na wa for this kind judgement .
