A 43-year-old man has appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice charged with the murder of Croatian man Josip Strok, who died in hospital following an incident in west Dublin on 30 March.

Mark Lee, of no fixed abode, was arrested today and questioned under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a garda station in west Dublin.

He was subsequently charged with the murder of Mr Strok and with assault causing harm to another man who was with him that day. Detective Garda Linda Ryan from Clondalkin Garda Station told the court Mr Lee had made no reply in relation to each charge. There was no application for bail before Judge Michael Connellan, and Mr Lee was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on Thursday 13 June via videolink.31-year-old Mr Strok who lived in central Dublin died on 3 April last from the head injuries he sustained at Grange View Way in Clondalkin.
