Jurors at Hunter Biden's trial for allegedly buying a handgun while using crack cocaine heard testimony Wednesday from his ex-wife who recalled finding a crack pipe in their family home.
Hunter Biden’s ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, described discovering the implement for smoking the drug in the side porch of their home in 2015 and later worrying their daughter might stumble upon it. The court also heard from Zoe Kestan with whom Hunter Biden had a relationship with in 2017 and 2018, recalling that he was smoking crack “every 20 minutes or so.”
“I cooked and smoked. I cooked and smoked,” said the extract played to the court, taken from his audiobook.But Hunter Biden’s lawyer said that he “was not using drugs when he bought that gun” and that it “was never loaded, never carried, never used” during the 11 days he owned it. If found guilty, Hunter Biden could face 25 years in prison, although as a first-time offender, jail time is unlikely.
