Ensuring everyone has equal opportunity to make their voices heard in the voting booth, regardless of race, is one of life’s vital necessities.

To achieve this equal opportunity for citizens and eliminate race-based discrimination in our elections, we must start with the passage of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act in Congress. Named for the late Civil Rights icon and former Georgia Representative John Lewis, this legislation would help restore protections outlined in the Voting Rights Act of 1965, a critical piece of legislation that has been severely hampered by two Supreme Court decisions over the past decade.

This much-needed legislative solution would help ensure that all suppressive voting practices, from partisan gerrymandering to unlawful voter purges, are a thing of the past. We know U.S. Senator Bob Casey has fought relentlessly to pass this legislation in Congress and we are thankful for his efforts. With the 2024 general election approaching, we hope to see all of Pennsylvania’s Congressional dfelegation members join with Senator Casey and pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
