News Corp Australasia Executive Chairman Michael Miller has called out global tech giants for operating “outside our legal system” as he advocated for stronger government regulation.

“Just about every problem that we have as a country is either being exacerbated or caused by social media and we’re not seeing a skerrick of responsibility taken by these companies.” “Government statisticians and mental health experts and especially the parents of children we have lost know otherwise,” Mr Miller said in rebuttal.

He referenced numerous penalties imposed on Meta including for violating data protection and privacy laws.
