President yesterday Marcos signed the “Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act”, citing the need to improve the country’s education system.
“Since the start of my term, I have placed great emphasis on the need to bolster our educational system and the urgency with which this should be done,” President Marcos said in his speech during the ceremonial signing in Malacañang. The President lauded teachers as the unsung heroes of society, acknowledging their dedication and sacrifice. He stressed that it is the government’s responsibility to support educators who serve the country by laying the foundations for responsible and productive citizens.
He referenced the administration’s MATATAG Agenda, which aims to address challenges in basic education by decongesting the curriculum, building more classrooms, providing learning materials and internet connections, pursuing a school-based feeding program, fostering safe learning environments, and implementing various support programs for learners.
