VANCOUVER — A British Columbia Supreme Court judge has approved a settlement agreement between the owners of the Northern Pulp mill and the Nova Scotia government.

The B.C.-based company has also agreed to begin a feasibility study for a potential new kraft pulp mill near Liverpool, N.S.Northern Pulp closed mill operations in 2020 after it failed to meet the province’s environmental requirements for a new effluent treatment plant. Huawei Technologies beat Samsung Electronics to become the world's bestselling foldable smartphone brand in the first quarter, marking the first time that the US-sanctioned Chinese giant has topped that segment, according to a consultancy report. Shenzhen-based Huawei saw its foldable smartphone shipments in the first three months of the year jump 257 per cent year on year, according to data published by research firm Counterpoint on Thursday.
