A New Jersey jury found Christopher Gregor guilty on Friday of aggravated manslaughter and child endangerment, but not guilty of murder in the death of his six-year-old son.The jury delivered the swift verdict on the second day of deliberations after hearing nearly a month of testimony as Gregor showed very little reaction.Gregor, 31, was charged after his six-year-old son, Corey Micciolo, died in 2021 after being forced to run on a treadmill because he was 'too fat'.
Prosecutors claimed the evidence would prove that Gregor caused his son's death.'After you've heard and seen all of the evidence in this case, you will be firmly convinced that this defendant is guilty of abuse and murder, because healthy six-year-olds don't just die,' Ocean County Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Schron said during his opening statement.Defense Attorney Mario Gallucci said the death was unrelated to the treadmill incident during his opening statement.
