A suspect shot himself after an hours-long standoff on the South Side Friday morning, law enforcement sources said.

A man reportedly shot himself, during a standoff with police and FBI agents that began late Thursday night.

The sources said medical professionals on scene rendered aid. Shortly after, an ambulance and a squad car were seen racing out of the area. Now, the FBI have been on the scene since Thursday night. Police were concentrated near 96th Street and Perry Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood.Shortly before midnight, that individual became aware of law enforcement's presence and displayed a weapon.

That suspect refused to comply with law enforcement's instructions for over nine hours, authorities said.FBI Chicago personnel have been on scene all morning to assist in the ongoing situation.Earlier this month, there was an arrest warrant issued for a man who shot his ex-girlfriend and her two children.Law enforcement have not confirmed if this was Coleman in the standoff.But again, the suspect they do believe shot himself... after a nearly 10-hour long standoff this morning.
