Two men are due to appear in court today after being arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle commercial explosives into the country.

Commercial explosives concealed in bags were confiscated by police at the Beitbridge Border post after a vehicle crossed into South Africa from Zimbabwe.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the men, aged 32 and 42, were arrested for attempting to smuggle commercial explosives into the country. According to Ledwaba, the Toyota Quantum with a trailer that the duo were travelling in, was stopped and searched and police discovered commercial explosives concealed inside bags.
