The jurors in Donald Trump’s trial performed “a fundamental civic duty” and Americans should “be thankful” for the careful attention they paid to the hush money case over the past several weeks, the Manhattan district attorney has said. Alvin Bragg told reporters that the 12 jurors carefully reviewed a large evidence base that included call logs, text messages, emails, recordings, checks and invoices, bank statements and calendar appointments.
He said they did their job and arrived at their decision based on “the evidence and the law, and the evidence and the law alone”. “Our job is to follow the facts and the law without fear or favour, and that’s exactly what we did here,” Bragg said. “What I feel is gratitude to work alongside phenomenal public servants who do that each and every day.” Bragg said “I did my job” several times during the press conference.
