Brett Button faced Newcastle District Court for the first time today and re-entered guilty pleas to multiple charges relating to the fatal crash.A court has been told sentencing proceedings for a bus driver over a fatal crash in the New South Wales Hunter Valley will be drawn out given the gravity of the case.
Judge Peter McGrath asked Button to again enter his pleas of guilty in the higher court before agreed police facts were tendered to the court. "Let's look at that when we're done, but yes, probably eventually, hopefully something good can come out of this," Ms Mullen said. Button's case has been adjourned to June 13 when District Court Judge Roy Ellis is expected to set a sentencing date.
