Gage Smith faces three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for the deaths of 4-year-old Navy Copas, 6-year-old Madison Copas, and 5-year-old Xavier Smith. He may soon face a fourth charge for the death of 28-year-old Courtney Copas, who later died at the hospital. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Smith, 22, was driving north on SR-104 when he lost control trying to pass another car on the narrow two-lane road.It then crushed a Chevy Cavalier where the three children and a woman sat as passengers.
The funeral for 6-year-old Madison Copas is on Saturday. It is not yet known what the funeral plans for any of the other victims are. Smith is due back in court Thursday morning for a preliminary hearing. He remains in the Scioto County Jail.
