The woman who took on Australian industry super fund-backed investment vehicle IFM for sexual harassment has been paid £270,000 , with the firm opting to settle less than a week out from a second legal hearing of the case.Nathalie Abildgaard, 27, alleged that Frederic Michel-Verdier, the head of IFM's London office, invited her to his hotel room after a work celebration in Spain last year.
Ms Abildgaard fought also for the right to speak about her case, refusing to sign a confidentiality clause, which is common in settlements.that while she would have liked to get an official verdict, she was satisfied with the settlement terms. But she said the fair settlement had come only after an "emotionally and economically draining process," with her legal fees tallying up to £100,000.
In a joint statement, IFM and Ms Abildgaard said: "IFM Investors and a former employee, Nathalie Abildgaard, have reached a settlement agreement in relation to Ms Abildgaard’s Employment Tribunal claim including her claims for sexual harassment, constructive dismissal and victimisation.""Both parties believe the terms of the settlement to be fair, and importantly, do not restrict Ms. Abildgaard from discussing the case. All legal proceedings will now cease.
In time all men will be accused at some level, it’s just what women do now, the fashion, the easy win. Watch out ladies, they’re coming for your sons.
