The manager for Alistair Clarkson and Chris Fagan confirms the Australian Human Rights Commission has ended the claim in the wake of the parties failing to find a resolution.

A complaint lodged with the Australian Human Rights Commission by First Nations former Hawthorn players claiming they experienced mistreatment while playing at the club has been terminated after mediation between parties broke down.

In a June 2023 open letter, former Hawthorn players and their family members outlined their next steps should their claim be rejected by the AHRC. Hawthorn president Andy Gowers said the club would like to see the issue resolved quickly and fairly for all parties involved. through legal representatives that they would be commencing a complaint against Hawthorn Football Club, Clarkson, Fagan and Burt alleging breaches of the Racial Discrimination Act.It's tasked with protecting Australia's democracy.
