The Abia first lady, who disclosed this during her visit to the victim, Esther Ibemecha, at the General Hospital Aba, sympathised with the victim and assured that justice will be done.
It will be recalled that recently a suspected herdsman, Salisu Garuba, who allegedly attempted to cut off the head of Ibemecha, cut off her four fingers in the process. Mrs. Ikpeazu assured that the state government will work assiduously to ensure that such incident will not repeat in the state. She disclosed that the government of Abia will take care of the victim’s medical bills and urged the hospital management to do all they could to put her back in good health.“I just came back and heard about what happened and I decided to come. The governor has said that government will settle your medical bill. l am therefore pleading with the hospital management to do whatever it can do and be assured that government will take care of everything.
Speaking to journalists, the Chief Executive, Hospital Management Board of Abia State, Dr. Ngozi Nduka, said efforts were on ground to mobilise specialists to see how the victim can still make use of her severed left hand.
