Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth is due to address the decision publicly in Vancouver at 11:45 a.m. PT. CBC will stream his reaction live. The decision will come after nearly two years of feuding between the B.C. government and Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke — who campaigned in the 2022 municipal election on a promise of keeping the RCMP — over the future of policing in B.C.'s second largest and fastest growing municipality.
