WASHINGTON - Senators Ted Cruz and Katie Britt are now pushing to pass new legislation that they say would protect access to in-vitro fertilization services, or IVF.
Cruz said he strongly supports IVF and wants to make sure that the right to choose to be a parent with the treatment is protected across the nation. Britt said the bill is an opportunity for common ground that would help people who want to be parents but have struggled with infertility. The bill comes just months after Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth tried to push a bill forward that would protect IVF treatments but it was blocked by Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith
