The Department of Home Affairs has refiled significant changes to its work permit legislation, allowing the creation of a nomad visa for remote workers.

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has welcomed the approval of the remote work visa proposal by Department of Home Affairs.

The city has been advocating for the department to amend its visa regulations to include remote work visa, which will help in keeping and attracting more visitors into the country. The new visa aims to attract remote workers employed and paid by foreign companies, provided they earn at least R1 million annually.
