THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has filed expropriation cases against individuals who claim interest over the properties affected by the towers to be constructed for the Tuy -Dasmariñas 230/500-kiloVolt Transmission Line and Substation Project.

The Tuy -Dasmariñas 230/500-kiloVolt Transmission Line and Substation Project involves 135 towers, of which, 75 are already completed, 48 are undergoing construction, and 12 are in the process of securing WOP. The delay, they pointed out, may lead to additional costs to be shouldered by power consumers, as well as potential power interruptions as these legal roadblocks hamper the entry of an additional 5,215.55 megawatts in proposed generation capacity near Calaca, Batangas.
