What about N Irish ones. It’s the same dumb ass attitude for these

It’s a noble idea but I’m not sure how much of an affect one man is going to have.

Excellent.

Before Hadrians wall gets breached again let's calm down. I've worked in retail and this happens with ENGLISH £50 notes too. It is down to forgeries in circulation.

Waste of legislation

Are these people stupid! Scottish notes have always been legal tender.

I have had this a number of times in England, in a store in York who refused my Scottish note, so I said I would buy it on a card and went round the store with a trolly which I filled it up, after it was rung up I said, “oh this is a Scottish card” and left the shopping and left.

Living in the North East quite close to Scotland every now and again you end up with a Scottish note and trying to get a pint with it is like trying to pay with a rattle snake covered in shite over to Bar staff

Right now I think Scotland should be in charge of the world...

useless work suggests that lawmakers no longer have problems. 👍

I do believe it's against the law not to accept Stirling notes, it has to be deemed illegal tender such as damaged or defaced

NO sorry we all have the right to take what we like and if she can't take it that people don't want that money, tuff we have the right to say no to gays and none uk money don't like it piss off and don't force your way on people when you don't respect their ways

These notes not legal tender. Simple as that. Similarly had she tried to pay in pennies, the shop could have refused them.

I was in taxi in Basingstoke and offered the guy a Clydesdale bank £20 note and he said 'eh I don't accept that' so I said fair enough and got out of the taxi and walked away, he was more than happy to accept it then.

It’s not. Apparently it’s legal currency and anyone can refuse to take it just like they can refuse any other legal currency

Upskirting law takes force today - what you need to knowAn investigation has shown the victims range from age 7 to age 70 You mean it wasn’t already an offence? I think it is sad we even need a law like this. I mean what is wrong with people? If I saw anyone in public trying to upskirt someone, their camera might be inserted into them. Why does anyone “need to know” about this? I mean, it’s cool and all but I figured that would already be an offense...?
