After a two-week trial at Manchester Crown Court Rebecca Joynes has been revealed as a sexual predator

Walking arm-in-arm with her dad up to the dank concrete building, she was a world away from her quiet, humble beginnings.

In social media posts, Joynes was described by her dad as a “perfect child in every way” who from “child to adult was always at the top.” On the weekends Joynes worked at her parent’s tearoom in Heswall, on the Wirral. On TripAdvisor, Isabelle’s describes itself as a “small independent café based in the heart of Heswall” with a 4.5 rating.

She ignored the call, prompting Boy A to message her: “Are you going to ignore me then… I see how it is”. Joynes began to flirt with Boy A on Snapchat, a social media app which sees messages deleted after 24 hours.“It better had be from the work,” Joynes messaged.“Am I coming later or no?” he asked. The boy had joked with friends that he was going to ‘s**g’ Joynes.

They were seen on CCTV going into her apartment. Nervously, she put a wash on before tidying her flat. The boy sat on her sofa. “What do you want to do now?” he asked.“I think you know what I want to do,” he said. Joynes laughed before they both sat together scrolling on their phones.“That’s a strange question - probably not as many as you,” Joynes joked.

Down the corridor, Boy B, who, at that stage, was yet to become her second victim, heard the commotion and immediately went to Joynes’ classroom. Shock in the tearoom Joynes was then bailed with conditions not to have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18. During this period she worked full-time at her parents' Cheshire tearoom, where while rumours swirled she had been 'banned' from the school where she worked, people still thought she was the quiet, shy, respectable young woman they had watched grow up.

"I hadn't thought about her in years but when my friends and I saw her name in the news we were shocked to see it. What was said in court appeared to go against her shy nature from when she was younger." He would sit on his bed and play XBox and talk to her - then she turned 'toxic' The boy’s older brother said Boy B told him they were in a relationship. “He said she would pick him up from school and they would go back to hers and do stuff.“They would call one another all the time whilst we were in our bedroom. He would sit on his bed whilst on the Xbox and they would talk for a long time, two to three times a week.
