A man has appeared in court just hours after a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run incident in Co Donegal.

He died on Wednesday night at Dublin's Beaumont Hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the incident.Gardai have confirmed their investigation is now a fatal road traffic collision investigation.There was heavy Garda presence at Letterkenny District Court where a man charged in connection with the incident appeared before Judge Ciaran Liddy.

He gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution of Grant and told the court that the accused made no reply when charged with the offences at 4.42pm at Buncrana Garda Station.
