The Keystone Steele City pumping station, to which the Keystone XL pipeline is slated to connect, is seen in Nebraska. President Trump plans to issue a pair of executive orders on Wednesday to make it easier for firms to build oil and gas pipelines and harder for state agencies to intervene. The order would also alter Transportation Department rules to allow the shipment of liquefied natural gas by rail and tanker truck, he said.
“These two executive orders will promote the development of new energy infrastructure, create jobs and provide more affordable, reliable energy,” said a senior administration official, who briefed reporters on the condition of anonymity to discuss the orders before they are signed. In Virginia, the Southern Environmental Law Center has won a string of legal victories that have disrupted work on the $7 billion, 600-mile gas pipeline.
A massive federal power grab. I guess that's the end of the GOP position on state rights? Trump
Annnd....*this* is why he's not being impeached
So he thinks wind turbines cause cancer but it’s ok to let Big Oil put pipelines anywhere they want? What about health & environmental impact? Disgraceful actions yet again!
god bless him
These comments are hilarious. All of a sudden the left is concerned with “states rights”.
johnRL73 I hear the sound of thousands of trees being cut down to make the paper for the multitude of lawsuits this will engender.
Trying to by-pass State Rights 🤬
Good for the US
😢
That girl is on fire
Of course, he is probably heavily invested in this industry & wants to make as much as he can before he is imprisoned
This is the opposite of Conservative ideology, in case anyone was wondering. This is straight up liberal, big central government, screw state’s rights. I’m sure all the so-called conservatives will speak up against it...
Thought Republicans were more states right? But Trump's really a NY democrat.
More court interventions against Trump. He’s such a friggin’ loser in court. He puts out these EOs for his rube base and they never know that they get shot down by the judicial branch.
Here come the lawsuits
So that the ice cap can melt faster, and his gold courses are under water? Is he pulling an insurance scam? Over estimating value for flood insurance?
Trump family must have money invested in the pipe line
NOT GOOD.
Too bad his fingers are not broken
States rights, states rights. Isn’t that what all the MAGA John Birchers constantly squeal?
Smaller government 🤥
Gop loves “states rights”
States' rights huh?
Good lord. Absolutely everything is the worst of the worst. Hey Jill Stein voters in MI, WI and PA, make the right choice in 2020.
WTH!!! He thinks he is CEO of the US not President. Where are the checks and balances in our government!?
Good.
Dictator in the WhiteHouse
Obama had 8 years to get us off gas & oil - instead he funded Iran, passed the failed ObamaCare, created sanctuary cities, dumbed down education and spied on Trump - all with your help.
This is the price Trump is paying the GOP to defend him
this is awesome news..
So where are the champions of states’ rights?
Any thoughts WBrettWilson ?
Hahaha. Those complaining about states rights don't seem to know that one of the ACTUAL enumerated powers of the federal government is making decisions on interstate commerce.
Love to see a pipeline go right under Mar-A-Lago- though it might make all the Chinese spies angry.
Destroying the country
If he doesn’t get his way on this, I guarantee we’ll be going to war with Venezuela or at the very least a coup attempt will be made. The so called “crisis” in Venezuela is about nothing more than oil.
Remember when people said Obama got too crazy with executive orders and was stomping on state's rights? Because I do.
Lol states rights. Smates bites.
So tossing out states’ rights? How conservative of Trump. 🙄
I thought the GOP was all about State's Rights?
