President Donald Trump’s former adviser and chief strategist Steve Bannon has warned against the efforts of China’s communist leaders and what he characterized as the complicity of American elites in their actions.
"The do not know about the enslavement of the Chinese people?" he asked."Sure they do," he answered himself. Arguing that the government system in the West and in China are"incompatible," Bannon said:"one side is going to win and one side is going to lose." Although Bannon was fired from the Trump administration and officially left in August 2017, his opposition to China is something that the president and top officials have repeatedly echoed despite his departure. The Tuesday CPDC event also featured prominent Republicans such as Senator Ted Cruz and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

'Elites' think of comments like that are a gross mischaracterization of free trade. They think both countries benefit from exchange of goods & labor, they're proud to have lifted tens of millions of Chinese out of poverty & provide affordable low cost goods to US consumers.
