Experimental measures to close a High Street to traffic have been lifted during the week, but it is still closing on weekends.
But consultation during the trial revealed that many residents and businesses found the arrangements were not working for them, with 46 per cent of the 861 completed responses supportive of the trial measures and 49 per cent in favour of reopening.After considering the responses, Hertfordshire County Council and Three Rivers District Council councillors recommended changes to reopen the High Street during the week but continue the closure on weekends.
