WASHINGTON—Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said department lawyers were reviewing House Democrats’ request for President Trump’s tax returns and said the Treasury Department intended to follow the law.
In testimony Tuesday on Capitol Hill, Mr. Mnuchin also pushed back against suggestions that Mr. Trump hadn’t been transparent, saying the president has complied with financial-disclosure laws and wasn’t required to voluntarily release his returns.

Why doesn't Trump want to release his tax returns as all other presidents have in recent times? That is the integral question here for journalists. What is the bid deal? Why does he have to hide?
Then why haven't you handed them over Mr Mnuchin? That's the law. The law doesn't say anything about consulting the White House first before deciding to hand them over.
