NDP Leader Rachel Notley slammed Bill C-48 Tuesday, telling a senate committee that the legislation in its current form should be tossed in the trash.
“Toss C-48 in the garbage. It’s where it belongs,” she told the Senate committee on transport and communications via video link in Calgary. The senators were in Ottawa. “No country produces its energy resources as safely and with the kind of attention to the climate as we do in Alberta,” she said. “This is not a tanker ban, it is an Alberta ban.”“Bill C-48 is a disincentive to the very kind of investment we need to attract to Alberta,” she said. “This makes no sense.”
The Senate’s standing committee on energy, the environment and natural resources is in Calgary Tuesday for hearings on Bill C-69.
But, Isn't she concerned about the coastal waters of Alberta?
