Xylazine is a prescription sedative used by veterinarians to safely handle and treat farm animals, wildlife, zoo animals and householdOfficials say the pain-relieving, muscle-relaxing drug, sometimes referred to as “tranq,” is often abused by being added to fentanyl and heroin.
