The Sessions Court here has ordered national taekwondo sportswoman Nur Dhia Liyana Shaharuddin to make a public apology to a disabled senior citizen who won a lawsuit against her, over allegations of being assaulted at an LRT station two years ago.

Arunan said the court made the decision in chambers after allowing the suit filed by Rodriguez, who is partially blind and deaf. In the statement of claim, Rodriguez said he boarded the LRT train to Putra Heights on July 6, 2017, and upon reaching the station, had allowed other passengers to go out of the train to avoid being pushed.

He claimed to be traumatised to go out on his own and feared that the same incident would repeat itself.
