Two former members of the board of the Federation of Newfoundland Indians have filed an application for standing in an ongoing court case over enrolment in the Qalipu First Nation.
The new board instructed its new counsel to discontinue the application for a stay of proceedings and to discontinue the appeal. That application was filed on the April 30 deadline and lists Andrew Barker and Jennifer Brake as the applicants. Both are current members of the Qalipu band council. Barker is the central region vice-chief and Brake is the interim chief and western vice-chief.
