ENTERPRISE, Ala. - A woman who was involved in a fatal wreck while driving on the wrong side of the road entered a guilty plea to the charge of Manslaughter on Wednesday.

Andrea Stacy, the defendant in the case, pleaded guilty to causing the 2021 death of Brittanie Ferguson after the two were involved in a car wreck that ejected Ferguson from her car. Evidence in the case showed that Stacy was traveling in the wrong lane of traffic on Highway 27 in Enterprise when she crashed into the vehicle Ferguson was driving, 12th Judicial Circuit District Attorney James H. Tarbox said in a release.

Enterprise Fire and Rescue attempted to save Ferguson, but she succumbed to her wounds while en route to Medical Center Enterprise.Forensic blood testing was performed, which returned results showing Based on a negotiated settlement, Stacy was sentenced to 20 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections.
