A ruling made by the Grahamstown High Court last year had threatened to halt the education of children whose parents are in the country illegally.

They will be allowed to continue schooling as a Ministerial Task team appointed by Cabinet finalises a report into the matter. In December, the Grahamstown High Court handed down a judgment that found that the right to basic education, could not be extended to children in the country illegally. That ruling has was then overturned after the Constitutional Court granted applicants leave to appeal.

They must not qualify for SASSA grant because they come here and immediately they start making babies, especially Zims...Yooooo hai cha!

Such rubbish ideas when thousands of South African children are unable to attend schools. When all SA kids are at school then you can worry about migrants children, charity starts a home first.

Helping a South African is one thing but helping the world is another,

Next is grants. They will be entitled to grants.

Then we need more schools government can hardly supply books 🤔

Agree, that Kids Shouldn't-pay, for the Sins-of-their-Parents(but 'Pass'-the-bill, onto border-CONtrol-officials) .

The constitution of SA applies to all who lives in SA. Not South African by birth every have a right to get education
