An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday ordered that six men, who allegedly hacked a police officer to death, be remanded in prison, pending legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji, who did not take the plea of the defendants, ordered that they be remanded in Ikoyi Prison.He adjourned the until May 21.Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Oladele Adebayo, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on March 20, at 11 a.m. at Mile 12, Ketu.
The six should be given awards, not remanded.
