SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional is not going to be unduly worried Datuk Seri Najib Razak's graft trial, which began its first day of hearing on Wednesday (April 3), will affect the party's ongoing campaign for the Rantau by-election.

Barisan Nasional is not going to be unduly worried Datuk Seri Najib Razak's graft trial, which began its first day of hearing on Wednesday , will affect the party's ongoing campaign for the Rantau by-election.

"I am certainly not saying that it is irrelevant to us. But we will do our bit and explain the issue to the voters in Rantau," the Rembau MP told reporters while on his campaign rounds in Kuala Sawah near Rantau on Friday . Najib, 66, faces three counts of criminal breach of trust, one charge of abusing his position and three counts of money laundering over SRC International Sdn Bhd funds amounting to RM42mil.

The by-election was triggered following a Federal Court decision to uphold an earlier ruling by the Election Court to nullify the results for Rantau.
