SINGAPORE — A 42-year-old car driver will be charged in court on Thursday with four offences over his involvement in Monday's multi-vehicle accident in Tampines that killed two people.The man will be charged with offences under the Road Traffic Act, including dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing hurt.
The offence of dangerous driving causing hurt carries a fine of up to S$10,000, or jail for up to two years, or both, as well as disqualification from driving all classes of vehicles. CNA understands that the 42-year-old was driving the black Saab that was caught on dashcam footage speeding and sideswiping a white car before a junction.In an earlier statement in response to media queries, the police said the man was arrested after he was discharged from hospital on Wednesday. His driving licence was also suspended with immediate effect.
