The paper is made from sustainably managed forests and the bags are strong enough to carry groceries weighing up to 16kg, it added. What do the supermarkets charge for plastic bags?Asda, the Co-op, M&S, Sainsbury's and Waitrose charge 5p for a single-use carrier bag - but Waitrose says it's intending to remove its 5p bagsMorrisons, for both plastic and paper bags
Figures from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs show that 1.04billion bags were sold in 2017/18 by England's seven largest supermarkets. That is an 86 per cent drop in plastic bag use since the scheme was introduced.
20p for paper bags and 20p for plastic? Thought the whole reason was to help the environment coz plastic isnt biodegradable which is then meant to encourage recycling and to use paper bags instead, but if Im paying 20p for a bag its certainly not going to be paper it rips in rain
If I pay 20p ,I don't want Morrisons advertising their name on the bag.
They will work well in are country, with all the rain ☔️ we get, paper +rain = food on floor. Get same problem with primark bags 😂👍
