Donald Trump is back in court today as one of the most high-profile criminal cases in US history continues. The first former president to face criminal charges, he is accused of falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to the porn star Stormy Daniels.

Today began with a gag order hearing over Trump's social media posts about witnesses - before the trial resumedAlleged gag order violations 'hanging over this case' Mr Pecker says Steve Bannon suggested that"we should take a National Enquirer reporter and go on the Hannity show and discuss the articles with Hannity".

He tells the court the arrangement was mutually beneficial, because it led to newspaper sales and benefited Trump's campaign. "I said what I would do is I would run or publish positive stories about Mr Trump, and I would publish negative stories about his opponents.Mr Pecker says if he heard anything negative about women"I would notify Michael Cohen, and he would be able to kill".

David Pecker tells him that after Trump announced his candidacy for president, the frequency of their conversations increased to between daily and every week.
