The Electoral Court has finalised all election-related matters that could have potentially altered the ballot.

JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa is expecting its first delivery of ballot papers this Friday.

On Tuesday, 52 political and five independents contesting in Gauteng signed a pledge to abide by the electoral code of conduct. With just 35 days till the seventh democratic general elections, the IEC says it's ready to administer free and fair voting.Gauteng electoral officer Thabo Masemola says about 90% of logistics have been put in place for logistics in the province.

"The conclusion of the candidate nomination process has enabled the electoral commission to commence with the difficult task of printing the ballot papers. I must indicate we are expecting the first delivery of ballot papers this coming Friday, these ballot papers are the first instalment for the metro which is hosting this event today."

Meanwhile, Gauteng police have placed the threat level of unrest, crime and violence on election day at moderate.
